A key element in the Ex-Cell Programme is the ongoing programme of social enterprise development provided by Aspire that complements the placement of beneficiaries with mainstream employers. The purpose of this is to provide more supportive paid work placements for those beneficiaries who require a more flexible support regime.
The first of these initiatives has been work with the social enterprise Nornir to secure the North West licence to operate Recycle IT– the largest national not for profit computer recycling company in the UK.
The next stage is the development in partnership with Manchester City Council of a Textile Recycling Programme which will provide additional training and employment opportunities in garment and other textile manufacture.
